Does Prayer Change Things? (Author Unknown)

They say that prayer changes things, but does it REALLY change anything?
Oh yes! It really does!
Does prayer change your present situation or sudden circumstances?
No, not always, but it does change the way you look at those events.
Does prayer change your financial future?
No, not always, but it does change who you look to for meeting your daily needs.
Does prayer change shattered hearts or broken bodies?
No, not always, but it will change your source of strength and comfort.
Does prayer change your wants and desires?
No, not always, but it will change your wants into what God desires!
Does prayer change how you view the world?
No, not always, but it will change whose eyes you see the world through.
Does prayer change your regrets from the past?
No, not always, but it will change your hopes for the future!
Does prayer change the people around you?
No, not always, but it will change you – the problem isn’t always in others.
Does prayer change your life in ways you can’t explain?
Oh, yes, always! And it will change you from the inside out!
So does prayer REALLY change ANYTHING?
Yes! It REALLY does change EVERYTHING!

Letting Go - Unknown Author

LETTING GO TAKES LOVE
To let go does not mean to stop caring,
it means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off,
it's the realization I can't control another.
To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it's to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
but to care about.
To let go is not to fix,
but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more
and
To let go and to let God, is to find peace !
Remember: The time to love is short

Knowing who I am

Must learn that I am a unique individual fearfully and wonderfully made by God. Learn to love myself as God loves me. Learn to just be. Know that it's not the things that I do but who I am as a person. To be accepted for me and not worry about pleasing nobody but God.

The Real True me

God has given me the ability
To see the real true me

To see the girl who was abused as a child
From mother to grandmother
The girl who felt rejected
The girl who seemed unloved
The girl who thought she was not pretty

The girl who was insecure with low self-esteem
The girl who turned into a young woman
Faced with the same negative emotions about herself

The woman who escaped into the arms of a man
The woman who thought this man would give her the love she was missing

The young woman who believed in fairytales of love and marriage
The woman who after two babies her dreams were shattered

The woman who lost her way and became promiscuous
The woman who did things as long as a man wanted her if only for one night

The woman who matured and realized that this was wrong
The woman who separated herself from men and dedicated her life to raising her children

The woman who gave her children’s father another chance
In hopes of her fairytale dreams being restored

The woman who realized that things had changed
And made the decision to move forward with someone else

The woman who had hope that maybe this man would love her\
The way she had always yearned to be loved

The woman who suffered much heartache and pain
Who held onto the hope that this man would be the one

The woman who had two more babies
In hopes that her family would be complete
Another dream shattered that filled her with grief

Reality has set in and this woman has learned
To embrace herself in love and not to beat herself up

And to remember that she has had love all along
To continue to be secure in the comfort
Of the arms of the Father up above

Who will always be the greatest lover of all

Prayer for the day

Prayer for the Day
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that You have guided me this far, and I trust You to continue to show me the right path to take and the right things I should do.? I am asking for your wisdom and counsel in all that I do. ? You are all wise and I can trust Your advice in all of my affairs.? I need you, Lord, in every area of my life.? Lord, give me the strength I need daily, as I work and serve You.? I also ask that you touch my family and friends and all of my loved ones.? Lord, also touch each one who reads this prayer that they may feel Your love and strength in their life today.? Bless all of those that you have placed in my life.? I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Haters by Maya Angelou

Haters/ By Maya Angelou
A hater is someone who is jealous and envious and spends all their
Time trying to make you look small so they can look tall.
They are very negative people to say the least.  Nothing is ever
Good enough!

When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters...

That's why you have to be careful with whom you share your
Blessings and your dreams, because some folk can't handle seeing
You blessed...

It's dangerous to be like somebody else... If God wanted you to be
Like somebody else, He would have given you what He gave them!  Right?

You never know what people have gone through to get what they
Have...

The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they
Don't know my story....

If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, you
Can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too!

We've all got some haters among us!

Some people envy you because you can:
 a) Have a relationship with God
 b) Light up a room when you walk in
 c) Start your own business
 d) Tell a man/woman to hit the curb
(if he/she isn't about the right thing)
 e) you are a strong person and don't let people run you over

  f) you have a strong and loving marriage and they can't get in-between spouses to spoil it

Haters can't stand to see you happy.
Haters will never want to see you succeed.
Most of our haters are people who are supposed to be
On our side (like some family and friends).

How do you handle your undercover haters?
You can handle these haters by:

       1. Knowing who you are & who your true friends are
           *(VERY IMPORTANT!!)

       2. Having a purpose to your life: Purpose does not
Mean having a job. You can have a job and still be
           Unfulfilled.

A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be.
Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you

       3. By remembering that what you have is by divine
               Prerogative and not human manipulation.

Fulfill your dreams!  You only have one life to live...when it’s your
Time to leave this earth, you want to be able to say, 'I've lived my
Life and fulfilled my dreams, Now I'm ready to go HOME!

When God gives you favor, you can tell your haters, 'Don't look at
Me...Look at who is in charge of me...'

Pass this to all of your family & friends who you know are
Not hating on you including the person who sent it to you.

If you don't get it back, maybe you called somebody out!
Don't worry about it, it's not your problem, it's theirs.
Just pray for them, that their life can be as fulfilled as
Yours! Watch out for Haters...BUT most of all don't become
A HATER!

One Sided Love

-One Sided Love-

Do you ever think of me?
Do you ever miss me?
Do you still love me?

Or

Is this just a dream?
Is it just a fantasy?
What does it really mean?

And

Am I the only one who still feels this way?
Did your love for me just fly away?
What do you have to say?

I thought we’d have a chance
To share one last glance
Or maybe one last dance

You said you needed space
So we slowed the pace
Every time I close my eyes, I still see your face.

I never thought that this would be the end
Now I’m left with a broken heart to mend
I feel as though I’ve lost my best friend

I always thought someday things would get better
And that we would get back together

But how was I to know that our love would never be the same
And the feelings would go up in flames

Where there was light, there is now darkness
Where there was happiness, there is now sadness
Where there was fullness, there is now emptiness

Only you can take this pain and loneliness away
Only you can make this a brighter day
Only you can dry my tears away

Things couldn’t be clearer
It’s as though I’m looking in a mirror

Now I finally realize what I feel is not a two-sided love
But only a “One-Sided Love”

Encourage Yourself

Remember today to encourage yourself in the Lord

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (Psalm 139.14)

Tests and Trials come to make you stronger. Remember that God has your back and all will be well...

This too shall pass

Be blessed

My African King

My African King
He is a stranger I saw from afar. A big powerful man who looked ready for war.
He came into my life and brought shining light. A light as brilliant as the stars above.
Who would have thought he would fill my heart with so much love?

He has dark chocolate skin, and eyes black as coal
Who would have thought he’d see deep into my soul?

He is a man pulled in many directions.
He is the man of my affections.

He is a man on a long journey trying to find his way.
The man I want by my side night and day.

He is a free spirit whose heights reach the moon.
He is a beautiful butterfly fresh from the cocoon.

He is the man God sent from Heaven’s gate.
The man who is my true soul mate.

He can be gentle as a lamb or strong as a bear.
Who would imagine the love that we’d share.
How can I show him that though we’re apart, I’ll always care?

Whether he is up or down, rich or poor, he will always be welcome at my door.

I want to be the Yin to his Yang.
I want to be his everything.
He is the man I call, “My African King.”

To tell someone about the goodness of God
To win souls to Christ
